Tent city , May 4, 2016

On May 4th, 2016 I went to Tent City in Victoria British Columbia. I noticed that one person from the tent city was cleaning up needles around the main garbage container between tent city and the provincial court house. The person did not have gloves on and was using his hands. I noticed that a group of people, that were not part of tent city walked into a side path and walked right up to the center fire without permission from the inhabitants. I would recommend a gate for privacy for the inhabitants of tent city. I noticed there was hardly any fresh water to drink. I would recommend delivering fresh water to the site. Lastly, when I went into the Provincial court house, I saw a homeless man walking into the public washroom with no shoes on and a plastic bag taped up together. I would recommend a bag filled with toothpaste, soap and a towel to go to each inhabitants tent, including slippers and I would recommend more decent toilets outside of tent city. This is my wish list.
