Visual Connection Mapping Drawing 135 and Visual connection mapping drawing 133

Visual Connection Mapping also applied a primitive but efficient data log of the drawings in order to keep track of the amount of drawings, and also to keep a basic record of the clients. For example, these two drawings are actual visual connection mapping units. On the right of each corner is a number, the unit number is to document the drawings – not the contents of the conversation. The above Vick drawings display a tiny tag stating the number 135 and 133. The series of drawings started at 1 and moved upwards.

Another way of logging the Vick drawings (Vick drawings means visual connection mapping drawings) was to attempt to keep a record of how many times I would speak with a client. For example, Vick drawing 133 has a pink number tag stating number 25. That means that I had the same individual twenty five times.

Another layer of recording the data of Vick drawings was the detail number, see 4/4 on the bottom right corner of Vick drawing 135 and 2/4 on the bottom of Vick drawing 133. These two details mean that that was the number of drawings I did in that session on the Wednesday morning at Our Place Society, on Pandora in the City of Victoria, Vancouver Island BC Canada.

The logging of data of the Vick drawings kept in the privacy and the confidentiality of the conversation.

Visual Connection Mapping is still open and active but no longer operating at Our Place Society on Pandora in Victoria City, Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada. Visual Connection Mapping has been privatized now.

The reason why Visual Connection Mapping is no longer operating at Our Place Society is as follows:

The new Community Engagement Programmer at Our Place Society (OPS) requested the numbers of the clients I see each week. I asked her why – as it would not benefit the clients, nor would it benefit the development of the program I invented called Visual Connection Mapping.

The request of receiving the numbers of clients I engaged with each week symbolized to me, as the Chief Operator, an evaluation of Visual Connection Mapping from the Community Engagement Programmer on to me; and it also symbolized an evaluation of the clients. To me, as the Chief Operator and Developer of Visual Connection Mapping, I knew that any form of evaluation would ruin Visual Connection Mapping and the Private and Confidential nature of the model (between the client and the helper). Engaging in any form of evaluation process with the Community Engagement Programmer from Our Place Society and Visual Connection Mapping would be a violation of trust from me to my clients and it is the exact the reason why individuals end up falling through the cracks of society in the first place.

Visual Connection Mapping needs to remain non-evaluative as that is the essence of the model.

These are the reasons why I no longer conduct Visual Connection Mapping at Our Place Society any more.

We have irreconcilable differences.

Picture of Visual Connection Mapping in the infancy stages, 2009. Title: “Trauma and Shock.” Dated February 6, 2017. Dampness has seeped onto to the paper and smudged the work but to me the smudging ink contributes to the title name of Trauma / Shock so it has an added layer of meaning to the Vick (Vick is short for Visual Connection Mapping) drawing.

When conducting Visual Connection Mapping sometimes I may or may not consider what is justice and what is not justice.

Three components of justice that I may / or may not consider when applying Visual Connection Mapping are from the principles of the Code of Hammurabi from 1772 BC, namely

  1. actus reus
  2. mens rea
  3. non compos mentis

Sometimes / on occasionJust-World-Hypothesis-300x255, Visual Connection Mapping would apply theories from others, such as the Just World Hypothesis, namely that actions and conditions have predictable and appropriate consequences.

“The entire world needs diversity of ethno – linguistic entities for its own salvation, for its greater creativity, for the certain solution of human problems, for the constant rehumanization of humanity in the face of materialism, for fostering greater esthetic, intellectual, and emotional capacities for humanity as a whole, indeed, for arriving at a higher state of human functioning.” Joshua A. Fishman (1982)1200px-Joshau_Fishman_Aberdeen

When I conducted Visual Connection Mapping in the drop in center at Our Place Society on Pandora in Victoria City Vancouver Island, BC Canada every Wednesday morning from 0900 to 1100 am (for a number of years pro bono as a trained and qualified Mental Health and Addictions Practitioner), many individuals without a home and living on the streets of Victoria City, BC would refer to the Bible text of Jeremiah, specifically and often even themselves quoting, Jeremiah 10:23 on the corruption of man. They would not be referring to themselves (the individuals without a home in Victoria City, BC) but rather the staff in charge, the three levels of government and society as a whole.

Ethics that Visual Connection Mapping abides by:

  1. “Whatever I see or hear, professionally or privately, which ought not to be divulged, I will keep secret and tell no one.” P. 67 & 68
  2. “The Canon. The Chief cause for this seems to me to be that it is the only science for which states have laid down no penalties for malpractice.”P. 67 & 68 (This component means that one needs to continue to check and recheck ones ethics in order to continue to do positive work to help others – without the ability to do self-checks the chance of malpractice exists. It is necessary to always to self-check; if one does not do self-checks and re-checks one is forced to abandon helping others altogether)

Visual Connection Mapping’s application involves the art of Medicine.

In the past medicine used to be an art, hence the art of medicine.May of the human sciences fell outside the realm of Mathematics and Biology and instead answers where found within the unique individual him or herself versus a list of symptoms from in the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM).

Visual Connection Mapping also believes that medicine and working within the Medical Model is an art versus an exact science.

Visual Connection Mapping is a unique experience of dialoguing. It works when communicating with a treatment resistant psychosis individual only. It is a singular communication between two individuals. The style of the conversation is different then other conversations. The style is one that redirects the attention away from the eyes and instead guides the eyes to the paper and the pen movements.

This redirection of eye contact creates a safe zone and it opens up a realm of human psyche otherwise uncovered by the naked eye. The lines on the Visual Connection Mapping (see above image VCM 45) interaction magically becomes like roads and highway intersections crisscrossing each other and providing a safe haven for multiple layers of sense frequency transmission to come out.

The lines are all unconscious connections linking subject matter, topic changes and personal psychology history together. The multitude of sense frequency are often experienced by me (the helper) as I allow my emotion to be transmitted onto the paper in front of me.

Sometimes the level of emotional conversation is so deep that it feels like radio waves are being transmitted into my body, which I then decipher cognitively and then encode in the designs of the pictures.

Sometimes an individual can break out in anger by elevating his voice or slamming his fists on the table and the diagram of Visual Connection Mapping then captures that moment in the line movements trapping the violent gesture like a fish in an aquarium, locking it in and sealing away the aggressive communication gesture of slamming down fists to the table by capturing and releasing the energy in a matter of two or three pen strokes.

The best way to describe the psyche experience of Visual Connection Mapping is to compare it to being on an airplane. Let me use a real airplane story to try my best to explain the experience of all the different factors involved and then I will try to strengthen the idea by using Visual Connection Mapping narrative details.

In 2006 I was on a Flight KLM 681 from Amsterdam to Vancouver. During that flight, I was a passenger sitting close to the right wing of the aircraft. Flying above the Rocky Mountains the airplane hit turbulence that caused the aircraft to shake tremendously from side to side and to jolt it from up to down. We hit numerous air pockets which illuminated all of my senses to an absolute terror, panic and helplessness all at once. I could feel the danger when the airplane dropped and then trying to correct herself by pulling back up to what was the intended original flight path. This situation had many different layers to it, there was the engineering component –

a) as will the aircraft be able to withstand all of this turbulence?

b) will this turbulence jeopardize the wing structure of the plane?

c) can the fuselage withstand the unexpected violent shaking caused by the irregular weather patterns above the Rockies?

d) can the passengers survive this shaking?

e) will a passenger have a heart-attack or will someone start to panic?

f) will an air pocket send the airplane plummeting downwards and will the aircraft survive the crash in the Rockies if that would happen?

g) would the universal radar be able to find the plane in the Rockies if it were to go down?

h) why is not the pilot relaying any announcements about this experience?

i) does he not want to admit of the danger we as passengers?

j) or is he trying to protect us?

k) Keep us calm, by understanding the severity of the storm but remaining strong and courageous; and keeping silent in order for the passengers to continue to believe this turbulence of the aircraft is only temporary?

l) whose hands are we as passengers in? the hands of the man? nature? science? engineering? technology? radar communications? or in the hands of God?

This scenario is an example of both a real situation and a perceived experience of the situation. It is also both a real event and an example of a paranoid process.

Visual Connection Mapping is often a multi – layered communication involving mind, senses and intellect and it is intended to be a responsible and a safe way for psychosis (which can represent the aircraft) and how the transmission of the psychosis is experienced by the helper when helping the client in the Visual Connection Mapping process.

Title: Rundown of Visual Connection Mapping, Part 1 and Part 2

Part 1

Visual connection mapping is meta-psychology. It supersedes any existing therapy or counseling as it falls outside the realm of social work and psychology.

(Image taken in Saanich, Vancouver Island, Sept 17, 2017)

Visual Connection Mapping believes in the potential that an individual has and it believes in the ability of the individual to by-pass regular symptomologies and systemologies by engineering mind techniques which ultimately enables profound unconscious positive capabilities.

Part 2

Visual Connection Mapping is a triangle technique whereby I (in the role of the helper) listen and draw the conversation by using lines. The lines pull out communication that is otherwise forgotten.

It works like a magnet pulling out unconscious language which maps the psychosis abstraction in a logically and concrete way.

Each drawing of the conversation starts as a random set of lines but as the conversation progresses the drawing turns into a structured and balanced whole. When the abstract lines end up representing a structure the organization with the conversation changes from psychotic to normalized providing clarity versus confusion and light versus darkness.

Journal entry. September 17, 2014

Location: Our Place Society, 919 Pandora Ave, Victoria, BC V8V 3N4, Canada

My role was as the Chief Operator of visual Connection Mapping / Developer / Helper to clients. The conversations, and most of the Visual Connection Mapping drawings that were conducted and created are private and confidential. Often I would do a self-reflection with the intention to bring tough topics to light. My motivation was to bear witness to the psychological pain of the clients and to reflect and try to help through any means I could, such as writing about my feelings and experiences myself in order to help other people.

Title: The dissolving of schizophrenia, the visual disappearance of schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is the result of a capitalism system. Are all the so called illnesses the result of our environment? The stress of trying to survive within a capitalist society? Schizophrenia, I used to understand as a mental illness but as I look around Our Place Society I see individuals as unique and I no longer see mental illness.

Each individual has their own narrative and their own logic. There are virtually zero signs of symptoms such as hallucinations, paranoia and dissociations. There are virtually zero signs of treatment resistant psychosis. All individuals are human beings, who are intelligent and strong in their own beliefs. What makes this different than the lives of other people? The capitalist system in the drop in center at Our Place Society is alive amd well and the idea of being better than the next guy is what separates each individual. But is not that the way on all layers of society?
